Ernesto Crespo García is a Cuban-born visual artist and stage designer whose work operates at the intersection of painting, installation, and cinematographic language. Trained at the Academia Nacional de Bellas Artes San Alejandro (graduated 2014) and the Instituto Superior de Arte (ISA) in Havana (specializing in Scenic Design), his childhood in the rural town of Alquízar instilled an early fascination with storytelling and dramaturgy. Crespo’s practice explores image-construction, temporality, memory, and the tension between reality and fiction. His works articulate a poetic dialogue between space, time and the viewer—drawing from his background in scenic design to transform pictorial surfaces into narrative environments. Now based in Barcelona, Spain, Crespo continues to develop his research-driven projects and installations, inviting audiences into immersive and reflective encounters where image becomes story.
