Ettoja (Artur Shirin) is a Ukrainian born artist, living in Lithuania. In his colorful murals and paintings he is exploring environmental and social themes by using ethnographical patterns and symbols and mixing them with the urban and digital world elements.Artist’s most significant graphic element is a black thick line. He uses it in a austere manner, reminiscent of architectural drawings. Along with restrained, yet bold colors palette his visual language has a strong feel of comix, pop culture and etno patterns. His paintings are playful, yet abstract, taking inspiration from the architecture graphics, print and design industry. Artur Shirin has worked with Kaunas and Vilnius municipalities and completed a series of unusual canvases on the streets of Kaunas, Vilnius and other cities in Lithuania. One of the most impressive walls that Artur has decorated, is in Vilnius station area with a huge hipster drawing of Einstein.
