Evan Hecox is most widely known for his design contributions to the skateboarding world. He has designed hundreds of commercials decks for Chocolate Skateboards. His long list of design clients includes, Volkswagon and Sony, and he recently designed the new state logo for his home state of Colorado. As a fine art painter, and print maker, he was one fo the first artists shown at the legendary Alleged Gallery, curated by Aaron Rose. Rose and Christian Strike then curated the seminal traveling museum exhibition 'Beautiful Losers - Contemporary Art and Street Culture' where Evan's work was prominent among an outstanding cast of artists that included many Mission School artists from the San Francisco area, where Evan was living and working at the time. Evan's traditional illustrative realism is widely known in the fine art world, but this new delving into the more abstract is the interest of his exhibition.
