Felice Koenig (b. 1976, Highland Park, Illinois) is an American visual artist and educator working primarily in Buffalo, New York. She earned a BFA from Southern Oregon University in 1999 and an MFA from University of Texas at San Antonio in 2003. After relocating to Buffalo in 2007, she served on faculty at Daemen College for several years. Her work has been exhibited regionally and internationally. Her meticulously layered acrylic-paint works are held in the collections of institutions such as the Albright Knox Art Gallery and the Burchfield Penney Art Center. Koenig’s paintings build dense surfaces through dozens of layers of minute marks and dots, producing visual tension that draws the viewer in to explore texture and pattern, while the overall form resonates with organic life and embodied experience.
