I can't remember when I wasn't drawing, painting, or making things.I work with objects that I have collected or grown. My paintings originate from color relationships I observe or make up, and are painted with a medium that dries flat and velvety, without shine. Flowers and vegetables come from my garden. The tables, bottles, and vases appear again and again because they have been collected, used, handled, and lived with. These are simply arranged and painted in ways that appear interesting and new to me.The seascapes and landscapes move toward something more open. They are built as color fields, with clouds, water and landscape serving as the armature that holds the painting together.Found wood turned pieces look sensual and alien. Some become useful objects.
