For over twenty years, Frank Seckler has been creating unique metal art. He has concentrated on developing patinas that bring warmth, vibrancy, and texture to his steel pieces. Frank has successfully married his love of color and the design process to bring us not only beautiful art, but functional art as well. Frank spent time at the Rhode Island School of Design and finished his degree in fine art at Lewis and Clark College. After working with many well-known artists and sculptors, Frank decided to open up Seckler Studios in 1989. Seckler Studio quickly gained a reputation for its craftsmanship and metal finishes. Franks training in printmaking and painting is what inspired his concentration on developing patinas to bring out the inherent beauty and vibrancy in steel. Due to popular demand, Frank’s work has been collected extensively throughout the United States, Western Europe and Japan. Frank creates these unique pieces in Taos, New Mexico, USA. The furniture pieces are “powder-coated” which enhances the finish as well as protects the piece and allows for easy cleaning. This process is the best protective coating available today, and results in a uniform, durable, high-quality finish that is also environmentally friendly.
