"I paint because I have to, it is my way to be and to share in the world. I do not know what will come next, I just wait and watch, surprised and happy. Many years ago, I was taught a design system using basic geometric shapes from Nature to form borders and eventually whole compositions. After a while I was told to use paint; I resisted, not interested, never having painted before, owning no supplies, nothing. As soon as I did as I was asked, I was home naturally, comfortable, easily, very surprised to be a painter. It continues 50 years later, self-taught painter, always interested, always evolving, and having fun waiting to see what is next."
