I studied graphic design at ACU but left for love a year short of completing my degree. My family is filled with creatives! My grandmother is also an artist and has encouraged me since childhood. I spent many hours working with her in her studio. She helped me to overcome a serious case of perfectionism (especially in regard to my artwork).I've been creating works for years but felt uncomfortable with the idea of selling and sharing my work with others. Basically it came down to a fear of rejection. However, with the encouragement of family and friends, I finally decided to start selling my work. The work/life balance is a real challenge especially since they are so intertwined. I try to be available first and foremost to my kids. I tend to work when they are in bed or engaged in an activity. Sometimes they paint while I paint which is also the reason there is paint everywhere in my home. I've learned to let go of things like OCD style cleaning and gourmet cooking every night.
