Following her graduation, she spent six years teaching Art in secondary schools before relocating to Italy to further her studies in painting at the historic Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence. Upon her return to the UK, Heather’s artistic focus shifted towards figurative sculpture, a passion ignited by her participation in a portrait sculpture initiative organised by The Tate Gallery, Millbank. She subsequently dedicated seven years to refining this craft during specialist sessions at Park Walk, Chelsea, establishing herself as a sculptor of significant skill. Her work has been widely recognised and can be viewed in several prestigious historic locations. Notable public commissions include the sculpture of Cardinal Newman in the chapel at the Newman Library in Littlemore, Oxford, and the figure of Sigeric, former Archbishop of Canterbury, at Glastonbury Abbey. Other significant pieces include a sculpture of the composer Sir Henry Walford Davies in a church in Oswestry, and a depiction of Owain Glyndwr, Prince of Wales, which is held at the museum in Corwen.Heather currently lives and works in North Wales.
