Hernan Caro was born in the coastal Columbian city of Cartagena and in 1986, at the age of 20, immigrated to New Orleans with an uncompromising intention to become an artist. Caro is a multifaceted artist. His creative drive has led him to work with a wide variety of materials throughout his lifelong pursuit.
