Hicham Ghandour is a Lebanese furniture and object designer whose work blends sculptural refinement with master craftsmanship. Born in Beirut, he spent over three decades in New York, where he trained in furniture restoration at the Fashion Institute of Technology and specialized in gilding restoration at Palazzo Spinelli in Florence. His expertise led him to work in the gilding-conservation department of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and to develop prototype pieces for Ralph Lauren Home.Drawing from his restoration background, Ghandour creates limited edition furniture and objects that combine noble materials such as lapis lazuli, bronze, rock crystal, and fine woods. His hands on approach personally applying gilding and collaborating closely with artisans results in contemporary works rich in texture, craftsmanship, and material contrast.Since 2016, Ghandour has designed exclusive pieces for Nilufar Gallery in Milan and has participated in international exhibitions, including Milan Design Week and collaborations with the European Cultural Centre in Venice and Villa Audi in Beirut. His work transforms functional objects into collectible sculptural pieces, reflecting a design language rooted in heritage, refined technique, and modern elegance.
