Jan Swanson has been painting for 30 years. It took her this long to figure out she wanted to be an artist. She spent time in the corporate world, which did not suit her but led her somehow to art. She started taking painting classes at Columbia College and the University of South Carolina and has taken classes at Penland School of Crafts, Arrowmont and Anderson Ranch. She is a Clemson graduate and spent time in fundraising, public relations, conference planning and public speaking before discovering art. She recently relocated from Columbia to Weaverville, NC after renovating her great- grandparents’ house for 10 years.
