Jesus Escobar is a Salem-born, first-generation Guatemalan-American artist specializing in abstract, non-representational acrylic paintings. With 15 years of dedicated study, including education at Chemeketa Community College, his work explores unique visual perspectives, extending into photography where he manipulates images to reflect his distinctive worldview. Deeply engaged in Oregon’s arts community, Jesus serves on the Marion Cultural Development Corporation (MCDC) Board, the World Beat Gallery Committee, and the Portland Art Museum’s Education Advisory Board. Recently appointed to the Keizer Public Arts Commission, he continues to advocate for cultural and artistic growth.
