Jesus Trujillo is a visual artist based in Arlington, Texas. Trujillo's work has been featured in exhibitions aross the Dallas-Fort Worth area, including Gallery West in Arlington, the Push Project Space in Dallas, the MAC, Craighead Green Gallery, the South Dallas Cultural Center, and the Greater Denton Arts Council. In addition to his exhibition work, Trujillo is an active participant in the local art community, currently working as a technician assistant at the University of Texas at Arlington. He also freelances as an art handler and gallery installer. In his own words, "I primarily work with bending and curving plywood, to show tension and stress in my pieces. I also use Spanish phrases in my work to invoke my personal frustrations growing up as a “no sabo kid.” There’s a lot of cultural identity tied into what I make and there is a sense of wanting to belong in the Mexican community. I’m hoping my work can offer a more sympathetic outlook for the younger generation who were like me at one point. "
