JO is a fusion of the talents of Oscar Martinez and Jerry Blank. Much like Rodgers and Hammerstein, where one composed the music and the other wrote the lyrics, Martinez and Blank combine their strengths to create a new creative force called JO. Martinez brings decades of experience in concept development, art direction, and marketing. Blank adds his background in design, art direction, and painting. Together they create a fresh body of work with a strong focus on music.Oscar Martinez was born in Havana Cuba in 1955 and moved with his family to Miami Beach at the age of four. He developed early passions for sports, dance, fashion, and music. Inspired by his father who was a prominent artist, Oscar entered the world of art and eventually moved to Las Vegas where he became experienced in every part of the art business including sales, publishing, gallery direction, and gallery ownership. Now he brings his inspiration and vision to a new collaboration with Jerry Blank called The Art of Music by JO.Jerry Blank graduated from San Jose State University with a BS in Industrial Design and went on to run a design and marketing firm in the San Francisco Bay Area for more than thirty years. In 2000 he took a year long sabbatical in Paris to focus on painting. After returning to San Jose he held his first art show. In 2001 he moved to Las Vegas where he continued painting, practiced graphic design, and opened Bluestone Gallery Henderson. With twenty five years of painting experience, he now joins Oscar Martinez in creating an exciting new collection titled The Art of Music by JO.
