Justine Ferreri was born in Arumagawa, Japan and has lived in North Carolina more than half of her life. She is a self taught artist and sculpture somewhat fell into her lap by accident. Justine enjoys the primitive quality of her early works and is not striving for perfection, but for emotion. As she hones her craft, she is always looking backwards to go forward. Her works really do reflect her life: the influence from the Japanese culture and the world of dancing can be seen in many of her works. Her jesters and circus pieces come from living in Wildwood, New Jersey and the carnival atmosphere of the boardwalk.
