Kate Schultz is a contemporary painter working in acrylic and mixed media. Her work celebrates the beauty and calmness of mother nature. Influenced by the work of Paul Klee, Milton Avery, Pablo Picasso, Mary Fedden and Arthur Dove; Kate is currently focusing on color relationships and shapes, while straying from the conventional concept of depth. Kate’s early paintings were eclectic, pattern-like flora and fauna, but as she continues to progress, the content in her paintings grow in simplicity. Her latest collection is a whimsical study on the stillness of the outdoors and celebrates what nature provides. She is inspired by the serenity of her flower garden, wild birds, neighborhood views, and trees calmly swaying in the wind. Kate has a BFA in painting from the University of Mississippi and has been professionally creating work for over a decade. She currently resides in North Carolina.
