Kaitlyn Gagnon-Muldez is a Richmond, Virginia–based visual artist working in oil paint and ultraviolet light sensitive emulsions. A design school dropout with a degree in English, Kay developed a deep understanding of landscapes through years of plein air painting in all seasons, inspired by the poetic immersion of the tonalist period. She seeks a sense of place in harmonious and contradicting edges and tones. She is currently experimenting with layering oil on printed raw surfaces. She has been featured in group shows and design catalogs as well as in private international collections.
