Keavy Murphree is a Nashville-based artist recognized for her playful yet restrained sculptural language. Working primarily in ceramic, she explores the tension between whimsy and minimalism, creating forms that blur the boundaries between function and expression. Her work invites curiosity, balancing refinement with a sense of joy. Originally trained in industrial design, Murphree spent more than a decade in design and product development before establishing her studio practice in 2018. Her background informs her sensitivity to form, proportion, and material, evident in works that range from intimate wall and tabletop sculptures to commanding furniture and lighting. Driven by experimentation, her practice draws from ancient and historical motifs reinterpreted through a contemporary lens. In recent years, she has expanded her sculptural vocabulary into large-scale public art, creating interactive installations and site-specific works that engage viewers in shared physical space. Murphree’s work has been featured in LUXE Interiors & Design, Nashville Interiors, and Style Blueprint, among others. She continues to develop one-of-a-kind sculptural works and welcomes opportunities for exhibition, collaboration, and commissioned projects in both private and public contexts.
