Kelly Han is a Korean American visual artist from New York City. She studied art in New York and Florence, earning a Master of Fine Arts degree in Photography from Parsons School of Design and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art Studio from State University of New York at Geneseo, which included a study abroad program at La Scuola Lorenzo de’ Medici in Florence. Kelly’s work encompasses numerous media, including photography, video, drawing, installation, and performance. She was a teaching assistant at Parsons School of Design and an artist-in-residence and art instructor at Fountain House Studio. Kelly’s extensive global travels have provided her with a broad international perspective, reflected in her art. However, it was the family photographs taken by her mother during her childhood, along with fond memories of perusing her artist grandfather’s collection of National Geographic magazines, that instilled in her a love of photography. She has exhibited at Photography Museum of Lishui, American Center for Photographers, Parsons School of Design, Photoville Festival, Pingyao International Photography Festival, Festival Foto Brasil, Glasgow Gallery of Photography, Fountain House Gallery, Atlantic Gallery, Salmagundi Club, Jamaica Center for Arts and Learning, Superfine Art Fair, The Nippon Foundation, The Plaxall Gallery, and Herald Square Plaza. She’s a recipient of New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) Support for Artists Grant, New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) City Artist Corps Grant, Queens Arts Fund, Korea Art Forum Grant, Ikko Nagano Award, The New School Student Research Award, and Parsons Graduate Student Research Fund. Additionally, she received awards from American Society of Media Photographers, Photo District News, International Photography Awards, and Chromatic Awards.
