My practice begins with an act of collecting. Drawn to the charm and fragility of paper dolls and other forms of vintage ephemera, I gather remnants of past eras and reimagine them as part of an unfolding visual narrative. Through this process, I invite viewers to step into a world where nostalgia and imagination intertwine, and where meaning continually reshapes itself through the act of looking. In Apparel for Cosmic Travelers, I construct intricate compositions that guide audiences through shifting landscapes of familiar yet mysterious figures. Against deep black backgrounds—suggestive of infinite space—paper doll garments drift, overlap, and hover as if suspended in a dreamlike orbit. The result is a sense of both motion and stillness, of memory floating untethered through time. The title reflects a central idea in my work: that we are all voyagers, moving through space and history while gathering the fragments of our shared cultures. Through delicate arrangements of collected imagery, I propose a way to navigate this journey—with love, curiosity, and style—as we piece together the remnants that define who we are.I live and work in Houston, Texas, and am a graduate of Louisiana Tech University. My work is included in the permanent collections of The New Orleans Museum of Art and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, as well as in numerous national and international private collections.
