About the Artist: Kyle Highsmith was born in Greenville, NC, and received a B.S. degree from N.C. State University’s School of Design. He has been painting full time since the late 1980’s, with New Elements Gallery one of the first galleries he began working with after leaving his architectural practice. Kyle begins each piece on location and finishes it in his studio, traveling throughout Europe, the Caribbean islands and the United States. His vivid color palette and recognizable style result in bold energetic canvases that express a joie de vivre.
