Kristine Ballard (born in 1970) started her creative career in Graphic Design. After completing her Bachelor of Arts Degree at Newcastle University, she built a career in Design and Advertising before venturing into Fine Arts and Art Education. She ran an art school for twenty years, all while establishing her own visual art practice. She was an arts facilitator for many corporate and public sector art events including the Arts Presenter of EDTV Australia. Kristine has been a full time practicing artist for over two and a half decades, and works from her home studio located in Sydney’s creative precinct of the Inner West. Her passion is colour and painting. She specialises in contemporary semi-abstract still life and landscape painting, referring to her unique style of painting as “Fragmatism”. This style is always driven by colour and light. Deconstructed shape and reconstructed colour form the basis of each work. Kristine exhibits her art nationally and internationally. She has been a selected finalist in many prestigious art shows throughout her art career including Fishers’ Ghost Art Prize, Blacktown Art Prize, Calleen Art Prize, Gosford Art Prize, Heysen Landscape Art Prize and Georges River Art Prize. She has been awarded art residencies around the world including two at the renowned Art Students League of New York. Her work has been exhibited in Singapore, New York, France, Venice, Fiji and throughout Australia. She has had numerous solo shows and is popular with collectors who enjoy vibrant and energetic originals.
