Laura was born in Chapel Hill, NC, and grew up in Raleigh. She received an undergraduate degree in economics from Chapel Hill and a masters degree in teaching. It was while teaching elementary school that Laura thought designing the bulletin boards was the best part! This, along with her longing for an outlet for greater creative expression, inspired her to pursue a career in art and design. A self-taught artist, Laura Park began painting in 2011. Her abstracts are spontaneous and intuitive. Inspired by colors in nature, textiles and design, she paints with a variety of mediums including acrylics, guache, pastels and oil crayon. Laura’s paintings are full of vibrant color and brushwork, with an engaging energy that makes the eye dance around her canvases. Her art can be found in several galleries along the east coast. Laura has four children and three dogs!
