Leda Almar is passionate about human nature, especially the female figure, and her emotions and feelings. She likes to tell stories. "Narrative is very important to me, as well as the emotion and the attitude of the character." Her portraits always have a hint of autobiography in the narrative, and her characters show attitudes that generally align with how she's feeling at the moment. Initially a ceramicist, Almar likes to explore a variety of techniques, "I mixed them and play with them, for the technique is just a medium to say what I want to say."
