“I feel passion…transforming a vision in to a piece of art, from realism to abstract to impressionism using various mediums.” Leon Basler is an artist whose career spans decades, with works in collections around the world. Originally from Sainte Genevieve, Missouri, Leon spent many years living in North Dakota. Leon's background lies in marketing. He worked as both the corporate marketer and pilot for Bismarck engineering firm, Kadrmas, Lee, & Jackson. He paints a variety of subjects, from airplanes, to murals, 60's inspired pop-art on large canvases, to smaller acrylic and watercolor landscapes, dreamscapes, abstracts, portraits, and more. One of his favorite subjects is aviation. Leon has painted everything from humble Piper Cubs to great warbirds, many of them winning awards. A lifelong pilot, Leon was presented with the Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award from the FAA in 2017, commemorating over 50 years of expert flying, instructing, and renowned aviation artwork.
