Leonid Afremov (1955-2019) was a Belarusian-Israeli-American modern impressionistic artist known for his vibrant oil paintings created using a palette knife, a technique he developed and refined throughout his career. He was born in Vitebsk, Belarus, and faced challenges in the Soviet era due to his Jewish heritage, which limited his access to state-sponsored art institutions and exhibitions. Afremov's journey led him from Belarus to Israel and eventually to the United States. Griffith Art Gallery represents all original paintings.
