Chicago artist Linc Thelen’s paintings represent his ongoing study of composition, texture, form and light. His abstract compositions focus on free-flowing organic forms, circular shapes and gestural marks, all depicted in rich color. Working in oil and oil pastels, he infuses a modern perspective into his classical training as an artist. His process is characterized by experimentation, spontaneity, and expression. Linc received his BFA in painting from Northern Illinois University. He continued his studies in Italy and France, focused on mastering the chiaroscuro techniques of the Renaissance Masters. His paintings have been shown in galleries in Chicago and New York and featured in dozens of art and design publications. In addition to his work as a fine artist, Linc also has an interior design practice in which he brings his mastery of composition, balance and light to his architectural projects and eclectic, yet timeless interiors.
