Lindsay Smail creates distinctive abstract works rooted in the rugged beauty of the local wilderness. She studied graphic design at the Ontario College of Art & Design and later earned a Master’s degree in English Literature from the University of Toronto. After a successful career as a creative director, she shifted her focus to her art, developing a disciplined and exploratory studio practice.Largely self-taught, Smail continually challenges and expands her approach by studying with established artists such as Iris Häussler and Robert Szot.Her work is held in private collections across Canada and the United States. She currently lives and works in the woods outside Washago, Ontario.
