Lisa Bostwick has been coming to Maine since her parents acquired a 700 square-foot charming abode in Northeast Harbor in 1984. Interested in American iconography including landscape, portraits of Americana, architecture, wildlife and the flag, Bostwick relies on full spectrum color and bold nuanced brushwork to bring her voice to each painting. A graduate of the San Francisco Art Institute, Bostwick has roots on Long Island and in California. Her paintings have been exhibited in numerous museums and galleries including the Legion of Honor and De Young Museum. With the goal of capturing the Maine ethos, including light, color, locals and summer communities, she tackles her subject matter with painterly instincts culled from years of practice.
