Liv Antonecchia was born and grew up in Katonah, N.Y. She attended Virginia Commonwealth University where she majored in Craft/Material Studies, receiving her BFA in 1994. Today she works from her home studio in Mount Pleasant,SC. "Over twenty years working with clay and still finding endless possibilities! Each piece is made out of stoneware clay. I either hand build or throw the piece on a potters wheel. The ware is then decorated with ceramic glazes and is fired twice in a kiln up to 2200 degrees. All the vases and mugs are functional and meant to be used. All mugs are food, dishwasher and microwave safe. All the vases are watertight for use.I was born and raised in New York State just north of New York City. Growing up my focus was always on art either at home or school. I attended the art school at Virginia Commonwealth University concentrating in ceramics and glass working. I love the endless possibilities with clay and how you could work in functional and sculptural pieces. After several years of creating work part time my family and I moved to the Charleston, South Carolina area. I focused on functional pottery and sold to area shops and shows. In 2015 I started to focus more on ceramic wall decor for the home. Today is my work includes sculptural wall pieces and functional wheel thrown pottery."
