Lu Sakhno was born in Ukraine and graduated from the National Academy of Arts and Architecture in Kyiv. She began her creative career as a designer, but since 2014, she has devoted herself entirely to painting. Her painting is always full of symbolism and a search for meaning, often intertwining dreams with reality andgeometric shapes with surrealism.Lu Sakhno has held numerous solo and group exhibitions in Ukraine and Europe. She participated in a significant project with Ukrainian artists “Ucraina TERRA LIBERA” as part of the Venice Biennale in Italy, where she presented three key works from her series “Gardens of Secrets”. These works were shown in Venice, Milan, Florence, and Rome from 2022 to 2023. Lu Sakhno left Ukraine due to the war and has been living and working in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada, since 2022.
