Born in Washington, D.C. and raised in Maryland's hunt country, Lynn Wade was a professional horsewoman for over 20 years before becoming a full-time artist. For the first 20 years of her new career, equine art dominated her gallery work until a move in 2012, to the seabird-abundant west coast of Florida. Lynn's avian art is highly recognized and is honored with inclusion in such prestigious shows as Birds in Art and Oil Painters of America and finalist wins in The Artist's Magazine Annual competition, their "Over 60" competition and Southwest Art's Artistic Excellence competition.Lynn has taught painting at the Taos Art School and the American Academy of Equine Art where she won a Masterwork award. She authored and contributed artwork to the book, "The AAEA Sketchbook of Horses" published by Equus magazine. Her magazine illustrations have garnered five nominations for Best Drawing of the Year (the American Horse Publications Awards). Lynn's work has also been featured in such national magazines as Equus, Western Horseman, The Chronicle of the Horse and Modern Horse Breeding.
