Artist Statement: I draw highly aestheticized animal forms in an attempt to reconcile fixed notions of beauty with that which is imperfect and flawed. And too, because I believe that if the imaginary line between animals and humans can be blurred and softened, and that cultural action—steeped in respect and compassion—can point in the direction of a more hopeful future; a future where schizophrenic capitalistic concerns are not at the fore of culture.
