aggie Robinson is a professional contemporary artist based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. She is an elected Academician of the Manchester Academy of Fine Arts (MAFA) and an Associate Member of the Society of Women Artists (SWA). Her standing is further validated by her regular exhibitions alongside The Royal Society of British Artists (RSBA) at the prestigious Mall Galleries in London. Originally hailing from an artistic and musical family in North Yorkshire , Maggie is an accomplished player of both the piano and the viola. Her artistic career is defined by the conscious decision to consolidate her passions, focusing solely on painting but always approaching her subject matter "through the eyes of a musician". This unique methodology ensures that she consciously seeks the rhythm, melody, and harmony inherent in any composition or scene. As a defining characteristic of her catalogue, almost every painting carries a title that reflects its musical content. Although she holds a Bachelor of Education degree from London University, where she specialised in Physical Education and Music , Maggie is a largely self-taught artist in painting, having developed her practice since the 1980s. A primary technical focus has been the masterful use of colour, which she explores to generate harmonic resonance on the canvas. Her expertise is demonstrated by her years spent teaching art groups across the UK and tutoring painting holidays abroad. Maggie has created several distinguished bodies of work. These include the internationally collected series ‘The Music of the Landscape’ , which was the subject of a solo exhibition in Scotland in 2022 , and ‘A Scottish Symphony’. Her more recent projects, which demonstrate her versatility, include the intense colour study of ‘A Colour Concerto’ and the structural balance of ‘Tabletop Harmony’. She continues to evolve her conceptual work with a developing series, In Harmony: A blended unity of earth and sky, which focuses on achieving a harmonious relationship between the grounded and aerial elements of the landscape. Her contemporary, vibrant paintings have sold across the United Kingdom, Europe, and the USA.
