[FR] Marc Leduc œuvre depuis plus de trente ans à la frontière de l’art informel et de l’art brut. À travers ses dessins et ses tableaux sur bois réalisés à l’encaustique, il a développé un langage graphique singulier et une poésie profondément personnelle. Son travail fait émerger des paysages intérieurs libres, instinctifs, affranchis de toute concession aux diktats esthétiques de l’époque.Sa pratique repose sur une relation intime à la matière, au geste et au temps. Par accumulations, effacements et superpositions, ses œuvres se construisent comme des espaces de tension entre contrôle et lâcher-prise, où la trace devient mémoire et où la surface agit comme un territoire sensible. À la lisière de l’abstraction et de la figuration, son travail invite à une expérience contemplative, marquée par la lenteur, le silence et la profondeur.Né à Sept-Îles, Marc Leduc vit et travaille à Montréal. Il est diplômé de l’Université du Québec à Montréal, de la Nova Scotia School of Art and Design et du Emily Carr Art Center de Vancouver. Récipiendaire de plusieurs bourses importantes, il a présenté son travail dans de nombreuses expositions, et ses œuvres font partie de collections majeures au Canada et aux États-Unis. [EN] Marc Leduc has been working for over thirty years at the intersection of Art Informel and Art Brut. Through his drawings and encaustic paintings on wood, he has developed a distinctive graphic language and a deeply personal poetic sensibility. His work reveals fiercely free inner landscapes, instinctive in nature and resolutely detached from the aesthetic dictates of the time.His practice is rooted in an intimate relationship with material, gesture, and time. Through processes of accumulation, erasure, and layering, his works take shape as spaces of tension between control and surrender, where traces become memory and the surface acts as a sensitive territory. Hovering between abstraction and figuration, his work invites a contemplative experience shaped by slowness, silence, and depth.Born in Sept-Îles, Marc Leduc lives and works in Montréal.
