Mario Jung: Renowned Korean Artist Known for Vivid Landscapes Born in Seoul, South Korea, on September 14, 1949, Myung “Mario” Jung is an internationally acclaimed artist recognized for his richly textured landscapes. His artistic journey began at Seoul Industrial Junior College, where he graduated in 1971, laying the foundation for his career in fine art. In 1986, Mario gained widespread recognition when he was awarded the Grand Prize for Western-style painting at the Exhibition of Fine Art of the Seoul Artists Association. Following this success, he was invited to become a lifetime member of the prestigious Seoul Artists Association, where he has been actively involved for over three decades. Despite early success, Mario’s life took a tragic turn when a catastrophic third-story balcony fall left him paralyzed, blind, and deaf. His remarkable recovery—sparked by a profound spiritual vision—astonished medical experts, friends, and family alike. Regaining his strength and senses, Mario returned to his passion with renewed purpose, refining his distinctive artistic style. His paintings are celebrated for their vibrant color palettes, expressive brushstrokes, and intricate textures. Whether capturing the warm glow of a sunset over vast poppy fields or the delicate realism of intertwining lilies, his work invites viewers into immersive, emotional landscapes. His versatile talent and diverse artistic range have contributed to his growing popularity among collectors and art enthusiasts worldwide. Today, Mario Jung continues to inspire audiences with his evocative art, proving that resilience and creativity can transform adversity into breathtaking beauty. March 1971 - Graduated from Seoul Industrial Junior College July 1986 - Awarded Grand Prize of Western style painting at the Exhibition of Fine Artist of the Seoul’s Artist Association September 1987 - Submit for exhibition of painting to Korea Art Exhibition March 1988 - Submit for exhibition of Un-Conception Painting to Korea Art Exhibition April 1990 - Submit for exhibition at New York Art Expo September 1990 - Submit for Western Style Painting to Korea Art Exhibition September 1991 - Submit for Western Style Painting to Korea Art Exhibition November 1991 - Submit for exhibition of painting to Korea Art Exhibition April 1992 - Submit for exhibition for Dino-A Art Festival of Dong-A Press Company September 1992 - Submit for exhibition of Korea Art Exhibition November 1992 - Submit for exhibition of Korea Art Exhibition March 1993 - Submit for exhibition of Korea Art Exhibition; Submit for MolwooAssociation Art Exhibition; Submit for HANKIIK Art and Culture Association September 1993 - Submit for exhibition of Korea Art Exhibition November 1993 - Submit for exhibition of Korea Art Exhibition Since July 1986 Mr. Jung has been a member of the Seoul Artist Association 2003 - 2007 - Exhibited at Art Expo New York (annually)
