Individuals and societies have always used ornamentation as a form of personal or collective expression. She creates jewelry to help people share their story and to enhance individual statement. Martha has attended the Maine College of Art (MECA) for jewelry and metalsmithing and has been a select participant in various workshops, including Haystack Mountain School of Crafts. She apprenticed with a prominent Portland jeweler and oversaw a successful jewelers co-op in the historic Old Port in Portland.
