Maykel Herrera is a Cuban contemporary painter whose expressive and evolving visual language blends abstraction, symbolism, and emotional intensity. Educated at the Fine Arts School of Camagüey (1993-98, Painting), he developed a style that transcends trends, focusing instead on the spiritual and psychological dimensions of form, colour and gesture. Over more than thirty solo exhibitions and numerous group shows, Herrera has explored themes of transformation and self-renewal, creating works celebrated for their depth of feeling and refined compositional clarity. His paintings are held in private collections across Europe, North America, Latin America and beyond. Herrera’s practice continues to evolve, driven by an unceasing quest for visual poetry and emotional resonance. He remains a vital voice in the Cuban art scene and an artist of appeal to collectors looking for pieces that are technically rich, emotionally potent and rooted in contemporary Latin American culture.
