Michelle Armas’ artistic journey began with a creative childhood shaped by her painter father and seamstress mother. Their eager supply of paper, pencils, and paints, coupled with their patient encouragement, instilled in the young artist the importance of perseverance in honing her craft. Growing up immersed in the vibrant atmosphere of her Spanish family and the muggy Texas climate, Michelle’s love for composing colorful art blossomed.Today, Armas finds solace in a simple life with her daughter and husband, surrounded by a diverse community of artists and creators in Atlanta, GA. The genuine warmth of the people and the leisurely pace of life in the South resonate deeply with her, evoking a profound sense of gratitude.Having attained a graduate degree in Graphic Design from the Portfolio Center in Atlanta, the artist initially achieved her dream job in New York. However, she soon realized the need for more spontaneity in my creative pursuits. Thus, Armas dedicated her evenings and weekends to crafting intricate oil and acrylic paintings. As the recognition and demand for her artwork grew, she made the decision to embrace a full-time career as an artist upon returning to Atlanta. Now, alongside maintaining relationships with her galleries, Michelle gladly shares her decades of experience as a working artist by teaching classes and inviting people into her cozy backyard studio for workshops.
