Michelle Paradis is a Canadian seascape and landscape artist living and workingfrom her home studio near Montreal, Quebec. Primarily self-taught, Michelle picked-up her paintbrushes again 6 years ago,after a ten year span working as a pharmacist. She lived on the north shore ofVancouver in British Columbia from 2019 to 2022 and the beautiful west coast scenerywas the trigger to return to her creative roots. After her 3 year stay in British Columbia, she is now a full-time artist carrying herwest coast inspiration back east with her. Working from her home studio, Michelleprefers to work with oils. Fascinated by the light, transparency, and movement of water,she loves to tell the story of a beautiful beachside sunset, of the light dancing on wateror shining through the waves. She is a master at depicting the light, transparency andmovement of water which she achieves by using both wet-on-wet and glazingtechniques with traditional oils. Her time spent on the west coast and her various travels across easternCanada, including a residency in Pouch Cove in Newfoundland, have greatly influencedher work. She is now known for her stunning depictions of light on water and theethereal beauty of the ocean in her breathtakingly grand seascapes. Michelle is active in the artistic community. She has won awards in various juriedexhibitions and is a navigator with the mentorship community Mastrius. Her work hasbeen collected internationally and can be seen in gallery at Crown and Press inHamilton Ontario, at Summer and Grace Gallery in Oakville, Ontario, at CountyCreative Gallery in Picton Ontario, at Cloud Gallery in Orillia Ontario, and select piecesat James Baird Gallery in Pouch Cove Newfoundland.
