Born in Belgrade in 1970 and raised in St. Gallen, Switzerland, Mischa Jovanovic navigates a cultural duality that defines his artistic perspective,. His foundation was built during an architectural apprenticeship with Adolph Blumenthal, where he was immersed in the art world through Blumenthal’s connection to gallery co-founder Ursula Hauser. Jovanovic further honed his practice at the New York Academy of Arts and the School of Visual Arts. Influenced by Abstract Expressionists like Lee Krasner and Franz Kline, his large-scale paintings translate themes of displacement into raw, fluid abstraction. He has exhibited in solo and group shows across Switzerland since 1996. In 2025, Javanovic became a member artist at IFAC Arts.
