CANADIAN PENNIES EMBEDDED IN CONCRETE CALIFORNIA We began creating art together in 2010 for the Burning Man festival. We were encouraged that the festival’s DIY approach could give us the opportunity to display our art to tens of thousands of participants. Lisa’s background in visual storytelling and Robert’s in metal fabrication and construction management was our combined formula. Together , we experiment with unique materials and notice how viewers of our art become participants by interacting with it. We have said that most of our projects are made one penny at a time. Quite true . Our process is a hands - on experience. We do not use computer or automat ion to create our pieces . We enjoy the process in seeing sculptures come to life from our own hands.
