Russian-born, Natalia lives and works in Vancouver, BC. She has exhibited professionally since graduating from the Stroganov Academy of Art in Moscow in 1995, where she earned qualifications in Art Criticism and Design. Following her studies, a journey through Asia as part of a geological expedition fulfilled her desire for inspiration. With a renewed sense of wonder and a wealth of fresh ideas, she ultimately relocated to Vancouver. Educated in the traditions of Russian classical art, Natalia draws inspiration from Russian icons- rich in colour, gold, and flat, conventional outlines. Today, her work represents a fusion of classical tradition and Western art concepts.“I’m looking for an elegant harmony between the human body and the Universe. It’s an exceptionally contemporary approach to time-honoured figurative painting traditions.” Natalia now specializes in custom oil paintings and murals for extraordinary interiors around the world and continues to exhibit her work in art galleries internationally.
