X-RAY PHOTOGRAPHY KENT, UK We live in a world that’s fixated on appearances—what we look like, the clothes we wear, the houses and cars we own. I find myself countering this obsession with superficiality by using X-rays to peel back the layers and reveal what lies beneath the surface. Often, the hidden beauty within these layers adds an intriguing dimension to the familiar. We all make assumptions based on the external visuals around us, gravitating towards people and objects that are aesthetically pleasing. My work challenges this automatic response by showcasing the often surprising, intrinsic beauty that lies within. In a society consumed by image, we are also increasingly controlled by security and surveillance. Whether you're taking a flight, entering a high-profile courtroom, or even just receiving mail at a corporate office, X-rays are used to scrutinize and secure. Our every move is tracked by security cameras, and mobile phone signals can pinpoint our location at any moment. Information is the key weapon in whatever battles society tells us we are fighting. The irony of using the same technology that helps "Big Brother" dig deeper—technology designed to strip away our freedom and individuality—to create art that reveals beauty is something that genuinely amuses me. We’re all familiar with the saying “don’t judge a book by its cover,” and the idea that beauty is more than skin deep. My art takes this concept further by exposing the inner essence, exploring what the manufactured and natural worlds truly consist of when you look beyond the surface.
