The Christopher Hill Gallery Artist Bio – Nicole Egert N I C O L E E G E R TNicole Egert is a contemporary artist from Germany. Their atmospheric seascapes reflect nature, memory and emotions. "I live in Germany and the Netherlands, near the North Sea. By the sea I am surrounded by inspiring motifs. I have always been fascinated by the dramatic atmosphere of this almost untouched nature and the constant change of light that changes the natural landscape around me, as well as my emotional reaction to it. I love to express myself creatively. For me, there are many aspects of the creative process. One of these aspects is to be out and about in nature. My biggest sources of inspiration are the sky, the sea and the horizon. I often spend time in nature, photographing or creating small studies with watercolor or pastel crayons in my sketchbook. These studies are later implemented layer by layer with acrylic paints, acrylic inks, brushes and painting knives on canvas." Nicole Egert studied art, English and pedagogy at bielefeld University, North Rhine-Westphalia in Germany. She is a member of the artist group KUNST. POINT! and the Künstlerinnenforum bi-owl e.V.
