He graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Art and Communications, and later served in the U.S. Air Force and Minnesota Air National Guard. Noel paints in both transparent watercolor and oil. His painted subjects include cowboys, fishing and hunting scenes, butterflies, dogs, aviation, and garden landscapes. He is an avid outdoorsman, photographer, and aviation buff who travels throughout the United States and Canada in pursuit of research material.
