Based in North Yorkshire, Olivia Dunn is a figurative artist whose practice is deeply rooted in a lifelong passion for drawing. Her academic background is uniquely dual-natured; after completing a degree in Fine Art, she went on to obtain a degree in Psychology. These two disciplines now converge at the heart of her work, where she explores the complexities of the female form through the lens of portraiture. Olivia’s paintings are heavily influenced by the traditions of classical portraiture. She uses the medium to investigate the delicate interplay between the gaze, vulnerability, and human connectedness. Her work is characterised by a strong narrative element—each piece is a sensitive reflection of the emotional depths and inner lives of her subjects.
