Award-winning artist and master pastelist Orit Reuben is an impressionist pastel painter. Born in Israel to a family of artists, Orit is greatly influenced by her late grandfather, who was also a painter. As a child, she painted at her mother's side, who still paints. Orit loves to paint outdoors where she can truly experience her surroundings. She draws inspiration from light effects and loves to observe how objects are illuminated. Her paintings often depict glow and intense light. She prefers to paint on sunny days, which are plentiful in Florida, where she lives. Her innate sense of color results in playful and inventive color palettes. In her previous career, Orit was an interior designer, which is why she often includes structures in herpaintings. She finds compositional balance in the combination of the linear geometry and organic plant shapes. Orit is an active member of various painting groups – she is a signature member of The Florida Painters, a member of Pastel Society of America, American Impressionist Society, and a Member of Excellence of the Southeastern Pastel Society. She teaches workshops and participates in plein air events, drawing inspiration from the landscapes she encounters where she lives and on her travels.
