Pájaro Gómez (b. 1946, Buenos Aires, Argentina) is a distinguished sculptor whose work has been central to contemporary Argentine sculpture for over five decades. He studied at the Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes Manuel Belgrano, where he trained under master sculptors such as Antonio Pujía and Marino Di Teana. Gómez’s practice is defined by a rigorous engagement with form, tension, and spatial dynamics, often reducing visual elements to a minimal set to achieve maximum expressive intensity.Since the 1960s, Gómez has been recognized with numerous awards and distinctions, including the Diploma al Mérito from the Konex Foundation (2012) for visual arts in sculpture, as well as multiple prizes from national salons and arts organizations throughout Argentina. His work has been exhibited widely in both solo and group exhibitions in Argentina and abroad, and he has been involved in site-specific outdoor installations for institutions including the Pinamar Foundation, Museo de Bellas Artes, and Villa Adelina, as well as public collections such as the Colección Killka at Bodegas Salentein.Gómez’s sculptures command attention through an elegant balance of volume and void, articulating movement within space while maintaining a quiet structural clarity. His longstanding career reflects sustained studio practice, participation in major exhibitions, and recognition from his peers, positioning him as a significant voice in Latin American contemporary sculpture.
